Championship week 3

Week 3's first match took place on Friday 21st April, St.Croans took on Ml.Glaveys to decide who would be Roscommon champions. Daylight faded quickly that evening which led to the match getting postponed, it has been rescheduled for the 7th of May.

Sunday the 23rd brought us three fixtures first up we had Cuchulainn vs Glynn/Barntown in Ballon GAA. Reigning Ladies champions where on top form that morning with exceptional batting & continued their winning streak taking the game 39-3

Over in Galway Breaffy demonstrated brilliant Rounders against last years finalist Limekiln, proving to be no walkovers to this years ladies championship finishing the game 12-1.

The same two clubs fielded in mixed competition next. Limekiln looking for revenge for their ladies defeat, no more than one run separated each team at any time during the 5 innings. High standards of play by both teams worthy of any final! Seen the game end 16-16

The following Sunday had all fixtures scheduled for Dublin. Our first pairing that morning for the ladies was Greenhills vs Roscommon Gaels. Greenhills experience seen them take control of the game from the get go, but not without coaching the Roscommon girls along the way. the Dublin side finshed the game 20-7 with 3 battings in hand.

As the above match finished, over in the North side of Dublin our second ladies game commenced. Na Fianna & Clonalsee set out to get their first win of the season. Na Fianna's Ann Murphy hit a massive home run hit in the bottom of the fourth, but was not enough to keep them in the game, as the Laois ladies sharp fielding helped them score their first win of 2017 with two batting's in hand.

The Heath and Na Fianna paired in mixed competition for the last game in week 3. The Heath showed why they are two time mixed champions proving too much for Na Fianna. Danielle Keane hit a sneaky Home-Run in the first innings and James Kavanagh hit a monster ball knocking it out of the park for the second Home-Run for the Laois natives. Final score 48-5 with 3 battings in hand.
