Laois take both under 13 All Ireland's

Monday June 4th, we held our under 13 Boy's & Girl's

All Ireland Feile, in The Heath GAA, Laois. Some fine

display of Rounders came from all youth club's involved.

The Heath's, An Froach were crowned Boy's champions, losing their first game against Breaffy Mayo, this only set them alight for the rest of the tournament, seeing off stiff competition from Cuchulainn Carlow, Emo B & Emo A Laois. They ended up
meeting The Heath in the final, An Fraoch leading by 6, going into The Heath's last at bat, two out and a massive bases loaded home run, just hit by the opposition's Jack Keyes, An Froach stayed calm and retaliated with a rocket throw, from John McNamara to Scott Booth on first base, leaving Tadgh Wheelan with no where to go. An Fraoch became All Ireland Champions 10-9.

It was a black and amber day, as The Heath girls made it two for two, for the Laois club. They first faced Cuchualinn Carlow, in a very close game winning by 2, next up was last years silver-medalists, Easkey Sligo who they defeated 6-1,their last group game was against Clonbroney Longford, the Laois natives had a comfortable win.
They now set their sights on the semi-final, pairing off against 2016 champions Athenry Galway. The girls hit hard from the start, with very few errors while fielding helping them secure a place in the final against last years champions, Emo Laois. Neither side having lost a single game all day, this was about to change for one team. The Heath took charge from the start & ran out eventual winners 16-6.
